Privacy policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Dearingold ("we", "us") operates dearingold.com. This policy explains what we collect when you visit dearingold.com or order from us, why we collect it, and your choices. Your photographs are often personal. We treat them as private by default.
What we collect
- Order and contact details: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give it, and what you ordered.
- Payment: Shopify and its payment partners process your payment. We never see or store your full card number.
- What you give us for your artwork: photos you upload, names, dates, places, messages and style notes, plus the proofs and final artwork we create from them.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, including proof approvals and revision requests.
- Browsing data: Shopify collects device, browser and page-view data and uses cookies to run the store and your cart. Where the law requires it, you can decline non-essential cookies in the cookie banner.
How we use it
- To make your artwork, send your proof, make and ship your piece, and support you.
- To process payments and refunds and to prevent fraud.
- To send order updates. We send marketing email only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.
Your photos and artwork
- Uploaded photos are kept in private storage. Authorized staff can request time-limited links to view them for your order. We do not put those links in your shopping cart.
- Uploaded photos are deleted automatically 180 days after upload. That window covers your proof, production and a possible remake. We may retain final artwork files for remakes and support; contact us if you want us to delete your final file, subject to any open order or legal obligation.
- We use digital and AI-assisted image tools to create your artwork, and an artist reviews every result. We do not sell your photos, and we do not use them to train our own models.
- We never use your photos, artwork or story in advertising or on social media without your separate, specific permission, given after your piece is delivered. Pieces featuring children or made in memory of someone stay private unless you give that permission.
- Tagging us in a social post does not give us permission to reuse it. If you join our optional collaboration offer, we will ask for reuse permission separately and in writing.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Shopify: our store, checkout and order records.
- Cloudflare: private storage for your uploaded photos.
- Image tools: the services we use to prepare your artwork.
- Print and framing partners, such as Prodigi: your final artwork and shipping address, so they can make and ship your piece.
- Shipping carriers: your name and address.
- Authorities: when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, including your photos, or ask us to stop marketing to you. Email dearingold@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. If you ask us to delete your photos while an order is open, we will tell you how that affects your piece. Depending on your state, you may have more rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. We will not treat you differently for using them.
Children
Our store is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information, except for photos a parent or guardian gives us to create artwork.
Changes
We will post any change here and update the date above.
