How proofs work
Nothing is made until it's checked.
Every piece is reviewed by an artist. You receive a watermarked proof and approve it before anything is made.
Artist review
Every order
A Dearingold artist checks likeness, crop, spelling and print resolution against your source material.
Your proof
Included with every piece
You receive a watermarked screen proof and approve it before we make anything. One structured round of revisions is included.
Priority proof
Optional art-queue upgrade
Your artwork moves to the front of the art queue. Manufacturing and shipping times stay the same — we never promise faster production to sell priority.
One structured revision round is included with every piece. If you want a change, tell us on your proof and we will show you the revised layout before production.

When a photo won't work
We check the source before making anything.
If a photograph can't support the piece you've chosen, here's the order we work through with you.
- 01
Request a replacement
We'll tell you exactly what's missing — resolution, angle, lighting — and ask if you have another photo that would work.
- 02
Suggest another size or treatment
Sometimes a smaller size or a different treatment gets an honest result from the same photo.
- 03
Offer restoration
If the photo is faded or damaged, our restoration process may recover enough detail to proceed.
- 04
Agree on the next step
If the source still cannot support the piece, we will contact you before production and explain the available resolution under our published order policy.
